New RAW tag team champs and Becky Lynch Suspended

New RAW tag team champions

That’s right, new tag team champions were crowned last night as The Revival was able to defeat Bobby Roode and Chad Gable.  I will be the first to tell you that I am not a fan of Roode and Gable as a team, but the longer they are together, the more they grow on me.  But I didn’t like them as tag team champions.

The Revival has been a team on the rise since The McMahon’s took over as the new authority of RAW and Smackdown Live.  I really like that they were given time on RAW to get the match to where it needed to be.  In most cases the tag team matches are less than five minutes.  The Revival, Roode and Gable were given ten to fifteen minutes last night and it made for a great match.

My personal opinion is they could have slowed this up a bit, not the match but the storyline.  I think they could have pushed this out until WrestleMania and that would have really pushed The Revival to the top.  But my confidence in the writers is slowly improving and maybe, just maybe they will have a decent match planned for The Revival and the titles at WrestleMania.

Becky Lynch Pulled From WrestleMania Main Event

“The Man” Becky Lynch was the focal point of RAW last night, as she spent the entire show contemplating on whether or not to apologize to Triple and Stephanie McMahon.  If she apologized, she would be allowed to take on Ronda Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania, if she didn’t she was out.

Fast forward to the end of RAW and Lynch was in the ring and although insincere, she did apologize and was granted her match at WretleMania … for about a minute. RAW women’s champion Ronda Rousey came to the ring to confront Lynch and before they could get into it, Vince McMahon made a surprise appearance.

Vince McMahon then arbitrarily suspended Lynch for sixty days and put Charlotte in the match against Rousey at WrestleMania.  It doesn’t make much sense right now, but it still early on the road to WrestleMania.  The story will for sure change by the time April 7th rolls around.

My personal opinion is adding Charlotte to the mix takes a lot, if not all, the heat off of Ronda Rousey.  Rousey has been getting a lot of boo’s lately and the WWE does not want Rousey to get booed.  Someway Lynch will be put back in the match.  If they write it correctly it will be a last-minute decision.  They have to slow burn the suspension.

This will work wonders for all three women involved.  If Charlotte wasn’t already one of the most hated wrestlers on the roster, she certainly is now.  Suspending Becky has immediately given her even more favor with the fans.  Now she can break all the rules, a la Stone Cold Steve Austin, and stick it to the powers that be.

As for Rousey, she can now gain favor from the fans once again by advocating for Lynch and the match against her at WrestleMania.  It was smart of WWE to go this route, if I have one complaint it would be that Lynch not apologize last night.  The entire storyline was wasted by Vince McMahon, who suspended her anyway.  The apology made Lynch look weak and she even got some boo’s by giving in.

I typically don’t publish a blog on Tuesdays, but felt the new tag champs and the Becky suspension was worth noting.  Be sure to check out tomorrow’s top ten and the updated fantasy pro wrestling points.  As always thanks for checking out gohomepwb.com, the people’s wrestling blog!
